Extra Large Tonga Basket
The Extra Large Tonga Basket is a dramatic statement piece that celebrates the artistry and heritage of traditional African weaving. Handwoven by Tonga women artisans in the remote Binga district of Zimbabwe, each basket features intricate geometric patterns and a signature herringbone rim created using generations-old weaving techniques.
Crafted from locally harvested palm leaves, wild grasses, and natural fibers dyed with tree bark, these oversized artisan baskets bring warmth, texture, and global character to large walls and collected interiors. Their impressive scale makes them perfect as standalone statement pieces or as the focal point of a basket gallery wall.
Every basket is uniquely handmade, supporting fair trade artisan communities while helping preserve traditional weaving craftsmanship and cultural heritage in Zimbabwe.
