Handcrafted ceramic vase created with a mixture of local clay by skilled artisans in Mexico. Each piece is wheelthrown and glazed only in the inside, leaving a natural exterior finish. The final earth tones and textures are the result of the different combination of clays exposed to the heat of the kiln fire. This beautiful heirloom vase will become a staple in your shelf decor or as a tabletop centerpiece.

Artisan & Product Details

The skilled artisans of Al Centro Cerámica are preserving heritage skills, creating handmade clay pieces inspired by pottery traditions of Guanajuato and Jalisco.

Please expect color variations. This type of ceramic has different percentages of earths and clays in order to "pigment" the paste without the need to apply a colored glaze. The materials react directly to contact with fire, the heat influences the intensity of color that each piece can have and sometimes there are variations even in the same batch, which is why in a single finish there can be a wide range of tones.

Care

Clay goods are unfinished and should be kept dry. To clean, dust with a lint-free cloth. Do not use cleaning products to avoid discoloration.

Clay vases are glazed only on the insides, making them water safe to hold flowers and plants.

We recommend keeping all handmade goods out of direct sunlight.
