TIME HONORED TECHNIQUE

Firozabad, India is one of those special places renowned for a craft heritage that has survived through centuries and continues to thrive today. Not far from the Taj Mahal, this is India’s glass-making capital where many still use simple tools and traditional techniques to create hand blown works of art. It is a fast growing city where modern factories blend with 16th century palaces but traditional handcraft is deeply embedded in its identity.

An estimated 90% of Firozabad’s population relies on the glass industry for their income. Abhishek and his team of 30 artisans are part of this majority and have grown up watching fathers and grandfathers master their skills. They explained that despite the push to modernize and industrialize the work, many remain committed to keeping the old ways.

03

DIGNIFIED BEAUTY

"We are committed to paying fair wages and creating safe, dignified, and joy-filled working conditions. We seek to encourage our artisans in their future endeavors through programs that support their families, communities, education, and healthcare. By working directly with our artisans, we are able to create sustainable relationships. As a result, we’ve seen them expand their skills and take their businesses to new heights.

We believe beauty shouldn’t contradict sustainable living, for in pure and fair practices, therein lies the truest of beauties - the life giving honorable work of human hands."
