Please Note: Essential oil candles have a very light scent when burned and cannot be compared to a traditional fragrance candle. Please do not expect it to fill a room with scent. Beeswax: Fontana uses only pure beeswax that’s naturally refined to remove its yellow color. Their beeswax is sourced from a global supplier whose beekeepers are trained in best practices, with a focus on hive sustainability and health—because the highest quality wax comes from thriving bees.

Coconut Oil: Sustainably sourced from Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia, coconut oil is the creamy base that helps hold scent and support an even, clean burn.

Pure Essential Oils: Fontana’s essential oils are unadulterated and sourced from ethical producers around the world. Each batch is tested for purity and quality through documentation and GCMS analysis. These oils are carefully extracted through distillation to retain the true, natural fragrance of the plants, flowers, and roots from which they come.

Wooden Wicks: Fontana’s wicks offer a gentle crackle as they burn and are made from untreated cherry wood sourced in the U.S. from Forest Stewardship Council–certified mills. Because Fontana Candles are hand-made from natural ingredients, slight variations are to be expected. Beeswax expands and contracts, resulting in small cracks.

Always store your candle in a cool, dry place at room temperature and keep it away from direct sunlight and high humidity. Be sure to store your candle with the lid on.

The first time you burn your candle is extremely important: allow the candle to burn until the melted wax reaches the edge of the container. This can take several hours. Burning the candle this length of time will prevent the wax from tunneling on the side of the jar. Candles that have tunneling have severely reduced burn time.

If you only have a short period of time to enjoy your lit candle, we recommend not lighting it until you have more time to relax and enjoy, and let it burn!

If your candle wax turns black it’s probably because it was burning in a direct draft, or it was burning for too long, and overheated. Once it cools and hardens, the scorched wax can be wiped away with a rag or cloth.

Discard your candle once ½ inch of wax is remaining in the jar.

Wooden Wick Burn Instructions

We have found that the optimal burn for our wooden wick candles is achieved with a short wick. Our wooden wicks burn best when they are trimmed to approximately 1/4."

This will require you to periodically trim the wick. We recommend trimming your wooden wick before every burn after the first burn.

No special tools are needed! This can be done by snapping the burnt ends off with your fingers.

If your flame gets larger than 1 ½”, please extinguish the candle and allow it to cool. Once your candle cools, you can trim your wick to approximately ¼” to ½”.
