Celebrate craftsmanship and optimism with the Imena Basket, a limited-edition design created by refugee artisans in honor of World Refugee Day.

Named by Louise U. and her group, “Imena” means “Faith” in Kinyarwanda—a reflection of hope and resilience. Louise is a member of the Hope Cooperative in the Kigeme Refugee Camp, one of Indego Africa’s newest partner cooperatives. Designed through a collaborative workshop in 2023, this piece is part of the HOPE Collection, where each basket tells a meaningful story.

Handwoven from locally sourced sisal wrapped around bundles of sweetgrass, this 12” wide by 3” high basket is hand-dyed in soft pink tones. The design features a pale blush border accented with pink dots—creating a look that feels both sweet and refined.

A built-in loop on the back allows for easy hanging, making it perfect as a woven wall basket, fruit basket, or a soft, feminine accent in any room.
